How many cities do you know that have a river flowing through it and Class 4 rapids?
Richmond, Virginia has tremendous history and I think one of the best ways to see and learn about it is by going on a guided tour with River City Outfitters or River City Rafting on the James River. I have lived here my entire life and I learned many new things from our extremely knowledgeable tour guide Lou (RCO). Anyone who has lived here long enough has been to the upper James, Pony Pasture, Belle Isle, Brown’s Island and the lower James, but you never get to see all these places on the same day while having a ton of fun, seeing some beautiful wildlife and learning so much about the city.
Please do yourself a favor and get a group of friends or family members and plan a rafting trip. Even if the river isn’t raging you will not regret it one bit.
