Kitchensurfing Comes to Richmond

Kitchen Surfing in Richmond Virginia

Kitchensurfing is a global marketplace for people that love connecting over delicious food. Their goal is to unify the intimacy of a dinner party with the ease of walking into restaurant: Whether it’s a worry-free meal at home with a professional chef or an exotic dinner party in an extraordinary location—Kitchensurfing has you covered.

My good friend Caitlin Kikcoin heard about Kitchensurfing recently and being someone that loves everything RVA she reached out to them and inquired about having an event here in Richmond. The end result was the first Kitchensurfing event held outside of Brooklyn. Richard Souter opened his amazing house up to 25 strangers, Pizza Tonight prepared the tasty food and Paul Karns from upcoming Ardent Craft Ales poured a Honey Ginger Ale and an IPA.

The menu was 3 courses and cost $15 per person.

  • Spicy Pickled Eggplant, Goat Cheese focaccia
  • Ravioli with Sausage and Fennel
  • Almond-Bergamot Cake with Citrus Crema

With so many great chefs and a very active food scene in Richmond I see a bright future for Kitchensurfing. It’s a great way to meet new people, share stories and try good food in the comfort of a home setting.

Visit kitchensurfing.com if you want to learn more about having your own event.
